What is a Time Capsule Event?
Once or twice a month we transform the Kalk Bay Community Centre into an event like no other! Each event is built around a single classic film — chosen with care, screened with pride. Before the film, the board game café is open (for certain releases), the old-school "video shop" DVD store is yours to browse and a nostalgia bag is waiting on your seat. Then take a trip down memory lane and get entrance to a live quiz with exciting prizes and finally when the lights go down the main feature will begin!
Seating is unreserved and booked in-person on the day.
Every ticket includes a popcorn, drink and a nostalgia bag. VIP guests receive early access, so guaranteeing the best seats in the house as well as a limited edition programme.
No two events are the same. The film changes every event. The theming changes. The tuck shop items change. The only thing that stays the same is the feeling — of being somewhere that was made for you.

On Father's Day, in a room full of people who understand why this film matters, there is no better way to spend an afternoon.
There will be a surprise interval moment that every Godfather fan in the room will recognise. We will say no more than that.

FAQ
What is included in my ticket? Every ticket includes the film screening, board game café access (only for specific titles), DVD shop access, a nostalgia bag on arrival and one included drink — choose from Coca-Cola, Appletiser or still water. VIP tickets include additional exclusive perks listed above like early access to reserve seats, discount vouchers and a specially designed programme.
Is there an age restriction? Most Time Capsule events are recommended for ages 16 and up. Age recommendations are listed on each individual event page.
What is the dress code? Come as you are. Smart casual is the general vibe — people tend to dress up slightly because the evenings feel like an occasion, but there is no requirement.
Can I buy DVDs on the night? Yes — the DVD shop is open from doors until after the film (closed when the film is on obviously). You can also browse and buy from our online DVD shop at any time
What happens if I can't make it? Tickets are non-refundable but transferable — you are welcome to give your ticket to someone else. Contact us before the event and we can update the name on the booking.
Is parking available? Yes — parking is available across the road from the venue next to the Dalebrook tidal pool
Can I buy tickets at the door? No tickets will be sold at the door, unless we have said so beforehand. Therefore pre-booking is essential!
