It is not about the past being better. It is about certain moments having a quality that time only seems to improve — a warmth, a texture, a sense that what is happening right now actually matters.
That feeling is what The Time Capsule is built around.
We believe nostalgia is not just a mood. It is a doorway. It connects us to who we were, to the people who shaped us, to the stories that made us feel something real for the first time. And when you walk back through that doorway — whether you are ordering a classic pre-loved DVD from our online shop, settling into a seat at our cinema screenings, rolling the dice in a board game café or stepping into the immersive world of EverRealm — you are not escaping the present. You are enriching it.
Every Time Capsule experience is designed to give you that feeling. The DVD on your doorstep that you forgot existed. The film on a big screen surrounded by people who feel the same way. The board game that turns strangers into friends in forty minutes. The experiential world that asks your imagination to do what it was always capable of.
We are using nostalgia as a compass — pointing back to the things that were genuinely great, so we can bring them forward and share them properly.
We are launching in Cape Town in June 2026 and we are just getting started.

Live Nostalgia Cinema Events Once or Twice Monthly · Kalk Bay, Cape Town
Once or twice a month we transform a carefully chosen venue into an occasion — a single classic film, a board game café (for certain films), a curated DVD shop and a nostalgia tuck shop bag on every seat.
Upcoming events include The Princess Bride, The Godfather on Father's Day, The NeverEnding Story, Hook, Ghostbusters for Halloween and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Our Pre-Loved DVD Shop Online and at every event · Nationwide delivery
A curated collection of pre-loved classic films organised by genre, decade and mood — with personal recommendations on every title that deserves one. Think of it as a video store with genuinely good taste. All films in excellent condition (unless stated otherwise in product descriptions)
The Time Capsule Cinema (Coming Soon!)
A weekly classic film on a proper big screen — warm, accessible and open to everyone. Families, couples, film lovers and anyone who believes that some of the best films have already been made. A nostalgia tuck shop and a curated DVD shop in the outside space.
EverRealm From September 2026
Something extraordinary is coming — a live experiential fantasy world built somewhere between theatre, live action roleplay and immersive storytelling.
We are not ready to tell you everything yet. But if you have ever wanted to walk into another world entirely, your time is coming.
